Women constitute a vast part of the agriculture sector in Afghanistan. This MDG-F Honey Bee Keeping initiative in Badakhshan Province aimed to improve the livelihoods of vulnerable women and girls by teaching them income-generating skills. The project provided colonies of bees and quality tools, as well as health and nutrition education, to poor households from four villages in eastern Afghanistan.
