INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES TURN ON THE TAP IN PANAMA

More than 90% of the indigenous population of Panama’s remote Ngäbe-Buglé Region suffers from extreme poverty, including lack of access to safe water and sanitation. An MDG-F-supported project empowered the people of four villages in the area — particularly women — to take charge of the creation, management and maintenance of their own water resources.
