SUPPORTING THE WORLD’S BIGGEST MIGRATION

China is currently experiencing the largest migration in human history. More than 200 million rural people have moved to urban centers, many of them youths who are ill-prepared for the transition to city life. The MDG-F supported a battery of new laws of policies to improve migrants’ labor and civil rights as well as their access to services and social security. Some 400,000 people benefited directly from programme offerings such as life skills training for young migrants, tutoring for migrants’ children, and special classes for rural students to help them migrate safely.
