20 years after the end of its civil war, El Salvador struggles with the highest violence rates in all of Latin America. The MDG-F brought together national and local governments and NGOs in a successful model to promote citizen security; the programme served more than 10,000 people by reclaiming public recreational spaces and promoting coexistence., including a campaign entitled “I Choose to Live in Peace.”
